The Society of Fire Protection offers the following free careers related resources for those who may be interested in becoming a fire protection engineer:


Careers in Fire Protection Engineering Page on Facebook provides a forum for practicing fire protection engineers to interact with people interested in becoming fire protection engineers. It has information about career related events and SFPE career related promotion materials.

Guide to Careers in Fire Protection Engineering is a supplement to Fire Protection Engineering magazine. It features trends and topics specific to working in the fire protection engineering field.

 


The Chemistry of Fire is geared to high school chemistry students. It teaches students the science behind fire as a way to  understand the dangers of fire. As a result, it increases the awareness of fire and the importance of home fire prevention. The interactive program includes a teacher's guide with five lesson plans, a DVD that demonstrates exciting experiments included in the lessons, three classroom posters and a web site where teachers and students can find more classroom and career resources. The program is aligned to the National Science Teachers Association Standards for 9th - 12th grades.
